Thank you and Farewell to Tom Marvil

Updated: Jul 18

After just over a year's service as Organist at Christ Church Cathedral, on June 24, 2024, Robert Simpson, the Canon for Music at Christ Church Cathedral announced that:

"Tom has decided to return to St. John Vianney Catholic Church at the end of July. I am grateful to have had the chance to work with Tom, first as organ scholar and then as Cathedral Organist. We will all miss his warm personality and talent. Plans are underway to celebrate Tom on July 28."

Marianna Parnas - Simpson wrote:

"Tom was Treble Choir accompanist for four years. He's a dream come true as a colleague; highly professional, very talented pianist and organist, kind and charming with a great sense of humor.  Tom had a wonderful rapport with the singers- they loved him.  We wish Tom happiness and success in his new chapter and we will miss him greatly."

Tom's last Sunday with us will be July 28. We will celebrate him both in worship services this day, as well at the 10 o'clock hour.

We want to thank Tom for accompanying the Treble Choir during both his tenure as the Cathedral Organist and when he was the Organ Scholar at Christ Church Cathedral.
